The Mindful Winter Solstice event takes place on 20 December 2026 at The Promise @ Leyland Farm in Bolton. This seasonal gathering focuses on mindful rest and self-care. Tickets are priced between £45.00 and £62.00.
An evening of mindful rest and cosy self care to celebrate the winter solstice.
The Winter Solstice is a time to pause and rest - often much needed at this busy time of year. You'll be guided in relaxing, mindful practices to help you welcome the winter season and take care of your wellbeing. You'll also create a beautiful centrepiece decoration to use on your festive table or anywhere you like in your home.
The inspiration for this session is the Pagan celebration of Yule, which is a time of feasting and gift giving in celebration of the return of the light. However, this is not a Pagan event, it is a secular mindfulness event that anyone can participate in.
What's included:
A short talk on the meaing of Yule and the solstice
Making a 'solstice altar' which can be used as a seasonal table centrepiece or decoration in the home - instruction and materials provided
Guided meditation for relaxation
Journaling prompts for some gentle intention setting for the season ahead
Hot drink (homemade hot chocolate, herbal teas) and sweet treats
Poems and short readings on the theme of winter and the solstice
Our location:
We'll be at the beautiful barn at The Promise @ Leyland Farm, Worsley in Salford. We'll have comfy seats and logs on the fire. Find out more here: https://www.thisisthepromise.co.uk/
W hat is a 'solstice altar'?
An altar is a focal point - a place or structure - used for rituals or prayer. We are making a secular (non religious) altar which you can use simply as a reflection of the season - bringing a bit of the outside into your home. It might be something you use to sit in front of for meditation (as we will do during the session) and/or as a seasonal decoration. I use mine as the centrepiece for the Christmas dinner table!

Please bring a journal/notebook, pen and a blanket.
If you have a tray you'd like to use to create your altar on you're welcome to bring that and select the BYO tray ticket option.
Accessibility: please get in touch if you have questions about the venue or activities and I will be happy to advise and support.
