A series of five workshops where participants create individual artworks documenting a journey through Wimborne, using their choice of media; from sketching, drawing, painting to collage, photography and text.

Mental mapping is a process used by architects and planners in order establish an understanding of existing built environments with regards to design and development.

Drawings, photographs and other media would recall significant elements of an environment or landscape; such as particular memorable features of a building, or general features or characteristics of the environment in which their proposed design would be located

These five workshops will support the participants in the creation of individual artworks that document a journey (or journeys) made through Wimborne.

Primarily we will be looking at how visual language can be used to express aspects of the journey that holds a particular resonance, or significance for the individual.

The images that make up the finished artworks can incorporate any chosen media (or combination of media) ; from sketches, photography, photo-montage, painting, text, collage etc.

Participants will have the opportunity to exhibit their finished work at an exhibition in the Minster at the end of the year.
