Creative writing doesn't need to be a solo activity. Whether you’re a seasoned writer, just starting, or simply looking for a creative outlet, The Writing Room is open to all.

We bring together local people with an interest in creative writing for a shared in-person experience, giving everyone the skills and confidence they need to write and keep writing.

This bespoke instance of The Writing Room, exclusively for Arts By The Sea, will run a little differently to our usual offerings. During this session, you'll have the opportunity to:

Explore your own writing ideas 1-on-1 with another writer

Get fresh perspectives and direct feedback on your literary dreams

Dedicated writing time to put your new insights into words.

Whether you’re in need of a creative spark, ready to get started, or struggling to reach the end, you’ll have dedicated time and space to make progress and share your results with others.

There is no charge to attend this bespoke session thanks to the support of Arts by he Sea and the Bournemouth Writing Festival. Donations are highly welcome as they help us to secure future offerings like this.

Bring whatever wrtiting ideas you may have—whether you already have words in a draft or just visions in your head—and prepare to make a leap towards creating the work you've been dreaming of writing.

Not sure you have something to bring? The Heningsbury Head Writers' Group have you covered. They'll be running free drop-in sessions (https://www.bournemouthwritingfestival.co.uk/free-writing-workshops) all day in the same venue for beginner writers, and you are more than welcome to create something here and bring it into The Writing Room for further refinement.
