Workshop for Parents and Children with Nicky Roland
Following great feedback from our previous community mornings we have planned three mornings.
These are free events - however donations are welcome
Come and join our mindful morning for parents and children together, which will include creative play, mindfulness and some fun!
This will be an open morning where you will experience some mindful activities and explore aspects of mindfulness as a way to support your parenting.
The morning session will include:
· Short guided meditations (suitable for adults and children)
· Gentle movement
· Conversations with other parents.
· Arts and Craft activities.
· Toys and play equipment provided.
· Some tea and snacks!
Mindfulness practices can support parenting, including:
· How to introduce pauses in the middle of busy parenting life.
· Bringing mindfulness into our relationships
· Repairing and resetting when there are challenges
· Inviting Compassion and Self-Compassion
· Opening to Joy and appreciation
We accept that, as parents, there may be many challenges, as well as some joyful moments, along the way. These mornings aim to create space to share, learn and develop alongside other parents.
We have a fantastic, large purpose area for our use during these mornings, fully equipped with all varieties of Toys and Games.
These sessions are intended to be inclusive and welcoming to all parents (or others caring for young children), particularly those of younger children: babies, pre-school, and primary aged.
Facilitator: Nicky Roland, Art Therapist and Mindfulness Teacher
Nicky Roland is an experienced HCPC registered Art Therapist, a trained Mindfulness Teacher, and a Community Dharma Leader (with Gaia House, Insight Meditation centre).
Nicky has several years work experience in the NHS, voluntary sector and in private practice. She works with adults, children and families.
There are several core values embedded in Nicky’s approach which include: inviting kindness and care; encouraging less-judgemental responses; allowing patience for change to occur and appreciating how we are in the present moment.
