Learn the copperfoil technique used in stained-glass conservation, including how to remove and replace a broken pane in a leaded panel
Copper foil technique is a method used in stained glass where thin copper tape is wrapped around the edges of glass pieces, allowing them to be soldered together along the entire joint.
The technique turns cut glass pieces into a unified panel and the bases for creating intricate designs and curves. Also known as the Tiffany method, due to its popular use on Tiffany lamps as the method suits detailed patterns, small pieces, and flowing curves because every glass edge can be wrapped independently.
