Community hike with a twist! Walking for warmth, donating unwanted clothing and giving back to those facing homelessness this winter!
The next community hike comes with a bit of a twist… 🥾 🤘🏻
We spend so much time getting outdoors, escaping the everyday, enjoying the fresh air and making memories. But not everyone out there has the luxury of choosing when they spend time outside.
This winter, I want to do something a little different and use our love for the outdoors to give something back.
As hikers, we make sure we’re equipped with the right clothing to keep us warm, dry and protected against the elements. But there are people facing those same elements every single day without the basic essentials we often take for granted.
So, I’m asking everyone joining this hike to bring along item/s of outdoor or everyday clothing that they no longer need. Something that’s been sat in the wardrobe, no longer gets used or has been replaced, could make a world of difference to someone experiencing homelessness this winter.
Warm coats - waterproofs - fleeces - hoodies - walking trousers - thick sleeping bags… anything that could help someone through the colder months.
It’s another opportunity to get people together, get outside and do something positive beyond just putting one foot in front of the other.
I started these community hikes to bring people together and make a positive difference, whether that’s looking after the places we love or helping the people around us.
This time, we’re walking for warmth!
Because getting outdoors is something many of us choose to do for our own wellbeing. For others, being exposed to the elements isn’t a choice.
Let’s make a difference where we can. A little less sitting in our wardrobes and a little more giving back.
Mother Nature brings us together, but community is about what we can do for each other too 🤘🏻
