The Resurrected tells the story of two young Kurds who miraculously escape Saddam Hussein’s killing grounds during the 1988 Anfal campaign and eventually rebuild their lives in the United States.

Partly based on true events, the novel weaves together the voices of victims, perpetrators and witnesses. Some testimonies are true, others imagined — together forming a haunting portrait of survival under the worst of ircumstances.
