Love is.... A Valentine’s Day clay workshop for two will take place at Paula Armstrong Ceramics in Fenstanton. Participants will engage in a guided afternoon of clay work, including materials, firings, and a glazing session.
Celebrate your connection through clay. A guided afternoon for partners, friends or family, with materials, firings and a glazing session in
Make time for someone who matters
What does your connection look like?
Perhaps it’s two shapes leaning towards one another. A sheltered space. Different textures that belong together. Something unexpected that only makes sense once you’ve made it.
This Valentine’s Day, join Elemental Art Flow for a relaxed clay workshop designed for pairs. Spend three hours making alongside someone you love, exploring your relationship through touch, form and texture.
Romantic partners, best friends, siblings and parent-and-child pairs are welcome. You don’t need a particular reason to celebrate your bond, or any previous experience with clay.
Inspired by nature, shaped by you
Elemental Art Flow’s approach is rooted in nature and Five Element Theory, which recognises the importance of relationships, balance and cycles of support.
For Love Is…, we’ll draw on those ideas to explore how two people connect while remaining themselves. Think of the ways nature holds difference together: roots intertwining, a shell protecting the space within, or separate branches growing towards the light.
These are invitations to spark your own ideas. Your work can be abstract, playful, personal or simply something you enjoy creating together.
What you’ll do
Led by Ruth, the afternoon will include:
A gentle introduction to working with clay and shaping forms by hand.
Creative prompts exploring connection, support, individuality and balance.
Time to experiment with form, surface and texture.
Guidance as you develop individual pieces that belong together, or a collaborative creation.
Space for conversation, laughter and quiet concentration.
We’ll focus on enjoying the process and following your ideas. There’s no model to copy and no expectation to make a perfect piece.
Who is it for?
This workshop is designed for two people who share a meaningful connection, including:
Couples looking for a personal way to spend Valentine’s Day.
Friends making time for one another.
Siblings celebrating a shared bond.
Parents and children enjoying a creative experience together.
You can both be complete beginners, or have different levels of experience. We’ll help you find a starting point and develop your own ideas.
What’s included?
All clay, materials, tools and equipment.
Guidance and support throughout the three-hour workshop.
Drying and bisque firing of your work.
A return glazing session of approximately one hour.
Glaze firing of your finished pieces.
Your glazing session will take place approximately three weeks after the workshop, on a date to be arranged. Finished pieces will usually be ready to collect approximately two weeks after glazing.
