A tea tasting workshop exploring herbal medicine takes place at Cambridge Central Mosque on 25 November 2026. The session is led by herbalist Rabiah Mali and follows the Islamic tradition of plant medicine. Admission costs £6.13.
Join us for a gentle and intimate tea ceremony rooted in the Islamic tradition of plant medicine and servitude with herbalist Rabiah Mali.
Together, we will explore the traditional healing properties and the stories held within each plant. We’ll reflect on the ways plants have long been woven into traditions of nourishment, wellbeing, remembrance and healing. The shared tea ceremony is an invitation to slow down and be present: to touch, smell, taste and listen; to experience a plant not simply as something to learn about, but as something to encounter. An invitation to deepen our relationship with the natural world, to be in stillness and honour our inherited traditions of plant medicine.
Please note that doors will close shortly before the advertised time so we request that you arrive 15 minutes before the start time.
About Rabiah Mali
Rabiah is a qualified Medical Herbalist, Hijama therapist, Auricular acupuncturist, Musician, Community Healer and an Islamic Counsellor. She is an alumni of the St ethelburga's Spiritual Ecology Fellowship. Her work centres on connecting communities to their inner healers and healing the wounds of separation and lack of access to nature by Muslim Women, which is all too often rooted in colonisation, racism, other socioeconomic factors and racialised Islamophobia. She set up The Herbal Blessing clinic in 2015, a sliding scale community clinic with the intentions of 'reconnecting' the community with their inner herbalist. Offering consultations, workshops, retreats and walks and holistic therapy that is rooted in traditional and spiritual plant-based healing.
