The Dealing with Loss and Change workshop will be held on 3 October 2026 at the Friends Meeting House in Canterbury, offering guidance on finding steadiness in times of change and dealing with loss and grief.
Finding Steadiness in Times of Change
Loss and change are part of every life, and grief is a natural response when things shift in ways we didn’t choose. This can include the end of a relationship, distance from loved ones, the death of someone close, or changes in life circumstances that leave us feeling as though the ground beneath us has moved.
Grief is deeply human. And for many of us, it doesn’t simply pass quickly—it lingers, quietly shaping how we see ourselves and the world, sometimes making it hard to imagine feeling steady or at peace again.
In this half-day course, we will gently explore how to work with these “winds of change” rather than be overwhelmed by them. Through simple Buddhist insights and guided meditations, we begin to relate to loss and change in a more open and workable way—allowing space for healing, understanding, and a gradual return to inner balance.
Taught by senior Buddhist teacher Chelvi, this course offers a supportive space to begin meeting loss—of people, relationships, and life circumstances—with greater clarity and care, and to slowly rediscover a sense of meaning and steadiness within life as it is.
