Delve below street level to discover the remains of an extensive Roman Town House, including a hypocaust and one of the UK’s only remaining in situ Roman pavement mosaics. Discover also remarkable examples of Roman pottery, silverware and glassware, and a rare Iron Age Helmet dating from the time of Caesar.
Enjoy also free interactive fun as you suit up as a Roman soldier, listen to our new audio tour, or create your own mosaic design inspired by our ancient pavement mosaic!
We estimate your Roman Museum experience will take approximately one hour. Tickets are valid for the day booked, at any time within the museum's opening hours (Please factor in the possibility of a small wait upon arrival in the event of very busy spells).
This summer, we are cutting prices for children and families visiting Canterbury Roman Museum, supported by the UK Government’s decision to slash VAT across children’s meals, activities, and days out as part of their Great British Summer Savings.
Offer available from 25 June until 1 September 2026.
£10 - Single family ticket (1 adult and up to 4 children 0 – 15yrs)
£20 - 2 Family ticket (2 adults and up to 4 children 0 – 15yrs)
£5 - Additional child ticket (Age 5-15)

Summer Family Activities (Wednesday 22 July to Monday 31 August)
Make your own miniature mosaic! Pick up a kit and recreate a piece of Roman Canterbury. A great activity for the holiday and an impressive project to take back to school. £6 per kit while stocks last.
Mint your own replica Roman coin this summer! Work with friendly staff, use authentic tools and mint a special souvenir to take home. Each coin comes with a information booklet. £3.50 per coin or 2 coins for £6 while stocks last.
Please be aware that while online booking is limited to manage capacity, tickets are generally available on the door.
