COURSE OVERVIEW

Do you have a specific project you want to develop? Want to learn more about different funding sources? Need help on how to write proposals or funding application forms? If so this is the course for you!

For who?

This workshop is for anyone working in the creative industries whether you're a producer, musician, artist, actor, writer etc. who is interested in developing their projects but does not have experience of doing this. You will learn about different sources of funding, ways of finding funding towards a project and learn elementary skills required for writing proposals. No prior knowledge required. It will be useful if you can come along with a project/idea in mind but this isn't essential.

Cyn y cwrs:

Bydd hi'n fuddiol petaech yn medru gwneud ychydig o waith paratoi cyn y cwrs, meddyliwch am brosiect/syniad yr hoffech ddatblygu neu efallai gall fod yn rhywbeth rydych wedi gweithio arni yn y gorffennol.

Before the course:

It would be beneficial if you could do some preparation work before the course, think of a particular project/idea you would like to develop or it could be something that you've already worked on.

Erbyn ddiwedd y ddwy sesiwn, dylech fod yn gallu:

ymchwilio ystod o gyllidwyr i'ch helpu i werthuso pa, os o gwbl, yw'r rhai gorau ar eich cyfer chi

ysgrifennu paragraff rhagarweiniol dda (neu fwy) sy'n fframio eich cynnig

nodi sut mae cyllidwyr ac aseswyr yn gweithredu a'r prosesau allweddol a ddefnyddir yn gyffredin gan y Loteri ac arianwyr cyhoeddus, yn ogystal ag ymddiriedolaethau a sefydliadau

asesu amrywiaeth eich ffrydiau incwm a'r potensial ar gyfer codi arian ychwanegol o ystod o ffynonellau a mathau (ee incwm a enillwyd, crowdfunding, nawdd)

By the end of the two workshop you should be able to:

research a range of funders to help you assess which, if any, are the best fit for you

write a suitable introductory paragraph (or more) that frames your proposal

identify how funders and assessors operate and the key processes commonly used by Lottery, Arts Organisations, Trusts and Foundations

analyse the diversity of your income streams and identify the potential for additional funding from a range of sources and types(eg earned income, crowdfunding, sponsorship)

identify language, writing style and jargon that may be suitable for you
