Join Wild Rhythm CIC and Secret Garden Cafe for an atmospheric autumn morning in Bute Park, exploring the hidden sounds and rich flavours of the season.

As autumn settles across the park, nature creates a whole new sonic world. Wearing wireless headphones, you’ll be guided through the ancient paths of Blackweir Forest to listen to the natural world in a way few ever get to.

Using bio-sonification technology, hydrophones, and contact mics, we’ll plug directly into the natural world around us. You'll get to hear the sounds of forest moss, tune into the electrical signals of ancient trees, and listen to the rushing sound of the River Taff like you've never heard it before.

After our walk, we’ll warm up together at the Secret Garden Cafe. Mel and the team have put together an exclusive, off-menu seasonal breakfast spread featuring carefully sourced autumn produce you won't find on their standard menu.

Over breakfast and a hot drink, Mel will share a short talk packed with simple, practical tips on choosing seasonal produce that tastes incredible while minimising impact on local wildlife and nature.

Weather & Clothing: Autumn weather adds to the atmosphere! Rain and damp ground actually make sounds sharper and clearer in the forest. We will be heading out whatever the weather, so please wear warm layers, waterproofs, and sturdy footwear.

Reusable Travel Mugs: To help us keep Bute Park plastic-free, please bring your favourite reusable cup for your hot drink if you can.

Dogs Welcome: Well-behaved dogs on leads are very welcome to join. To protect native wildlife and make sure everyone can enjoy the quiet sounds of the park, please keep dogs calm and on a short lead throughout the walk.
