Comedian, writer and lifelong activist Alexei Sayle discusses his new memoir, How I’ve Tried to Change the World by Walking Down the Middle of the Street Shouting . Born into a Communist family in Liverpool, Alexei traces seven decades of political struggle through the marches, protests and movements that shaped his life and beliefs. From Vietnam and the miners’ strikes to Iraq and Gaza, he reflects on the enduring fight for a fairer society. Eye-wateringly funny, deeply personal and sharply polemical, this is an evening of stories, ideas and defiance from one of Britain’s most distinctive voices. Chaired by author Tiffany Murray .
