Join David Womersley , editor of the new Cambridge Anniversary Edition, and Hester Grant whose The Twitnam Summer brilliantly evokes the Georgian England of 1726 when Jonathan Swift arrived in London from Dublin with a draft of Gulliver’s Travels in his bag. Teeming with memorable creations, from the tiny but spirited Lilliputi to the flying island of Laputa and the giants of Brobdingnag, this landmark tale is widely credited with being the first science fiction and the forerunner of the modern novel. Together David and Hester celebrate Swift’s satirical wit and visionary creativity in conversation with Susie Goldsbrough , The Times Deputy Literary Editor.
