About This Event

Robert Harris , author of the Cicero trilogy, returns to ancient Rome. Julius Caesar has been murdered, changing the lives of two teenage boys forever. Octavius, Caesar’s nephew and heir, alongside his closest friend, Agrippa, must fight the giant figures of the Roman Empire to become Emperor Augustus. Many years later, ailing and alone, Agrippa writes his memoirs, describing how one man has dominated his life: the cunning and ruthless Octavius. When it comes to power, does friendship exist at all? Chaired by The Sunday Times Chief Literary Critic Johanna Thomas-Corr . There will be a book signing after this event.
