While England celebrated a memorable run to the semi-finals, former England captain and Arsenal legend Tony Adams was battling a personal crisis marked by addiction, family breakdown and misery. He reflects on the 44-day drinking binge that followed England’s crushing exit, marking the turning point that led him to seek help and start a recovery journey that transformed his life. Tony revisits the highs and lows of a year when football came home but England’s 30 years of hurt continued, sharing a candid account of recovery off the pitch.
