Join us for The History of the Saxophone, an evening of music and storytelling that traces one of the world's most expressive instruments from its invention in the 1840s to the many places it has taken us since. Adolphe Sax set out to build a voice that blended the warmth of the woodwinds with the power of brass. In the years since, that voice has marched with military bands, swung through the jazz clubs, soared in the concert hall and found a home in pop, rock and beyond. Andy Brush and a line-up of talented local saxophonists will bring each era to life with live performance, showing how a single instrument can sound sultry, joyful, daring and tender. Whether you're a lifelong fan or simply curious, come and hear how the saxophone found its voice, and how it continues to inspire players and listeners alike.

The event price of £15 includes drinks and refreshements.

This event is being held to raise funds for charity. Any surplus will be split between the Voyager Trust charity and St. Peter Ad Vincula Church.
