Climate, Migration, Refugees, and the SDGs: Leaving No One Behind
Join us in person for a timely and thought-provoking discussion exploring the intersection of climate change, migration, forced displacement, human rights, security, and sustainable development.
This Associated EU Presidency Event will examine how climate instability may intensify migration pressures and contribute to forced displacement, while exploring the potential cascading consequences of insufficient action in the face of the climate crisis. The event will consider what a rights-based, inclusive, and SDG-aligned global response should look like and how we can work together across society to ensure that no one is left behind.
The 90-minute programme will feature a keynote address by Ambassador David Donoghue, followed by a panel discussion bringing together leading practitioners and scholars working across migration, humanitarian response, human rights, and social inclusion.
Through diverse perspectives and informed discussion, we will explore how the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can help shape more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable futures in a world facing interconnected climate and migration challenges. Discussion will touch upon implications for a Post-2030 Agenda.
We welcome you to be part of this important conversation and to consider how, together, we can help build a future that truly leaves no one behind.
This event is being organised by SDSN Ireland in partnership with the UNIC European University Alliance, and UCC Futures: Collective Social Futures.
