Coventry is a unique city, home to a rich history, ancient legends, pioneers of innovation and the arts and an eclectic mix of architecture.
On this walk, you will learn about
The legend of Godiva, and the truth about her historical significance and why there may have been an agenda to whitewash her from history.
The loss of St Marys Cathedral in the dissolution of the Monasteries, how that changed Coventry forever and the other ways Henry VIII messed the city about.
Moonlight Sonata, the Blitz of the 14th of November 1940 and what authorities really knew before the attack.
The crucial part that Coventry was meant to play in the Gunpowder Plot.
The legacies of international peace and reconciliation which followed the destruction and rebuilding of St Michaels Cathedrals.

This walk is very light and the tour will take approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes.
Currently, we are advertising walks as happening at 9.50 on most days, Tuesday-Saturday. However, walks will be cancelled in advance if there are no bookings, and occasionally tours will not happen on a certain day due to other events, private bookings or the need to take a day off! It is also the case that there are two options, Godiva's Cathedral Quarter Walk and the Jigsaw of History Tour, but only the first one to receive a booking will happen. While you can turn up and pay on the day, this only works if the walk is actually going ahead, so please book in advance or at least contact us about walks on specific days at skybluecitywalks@gmail.com or on 07312109988.
