💜 DERBY LIGHTS UP PURPLE FOR DLD AWARENESS DAY 💜

Join us on Friday 16th October as the Derby Conference Centre lights up purple to mark DLD Awareness Day!

Developmental Language Disorder is the most common learning difficulty and neurodivergence, it affects how a person understands and uses language, but it is still far too often misunderstood, missed or mistaken for something else.

Continuing to raise awareness matters enormously, because greater understanding can change how children and young people are supported at home, in education and throughout their lives.

Sunshine Support will be hosting a relaxed and welcoming get-together at our Hub, with guest speakers including Libby Hill, Ridley Wadlow and Chrissa Wadlow. They will each share a few words about DLD and why awareness remains so important.

There will be free hot chocolates, hot drinks and snacks, with plenty of time to chat to the Sunshine team and meet other families. You do not need to know anybody, and you certainly do not need to arrive knowing everything about DLD. Just come along and join us! 💜
