Join Andy from Western Heights Preservation Society, on a walking tour around two of the 19th century gun batteries, on the Western Heights

During last Winter, volunteers from WHPS Western Heights Preservation Society - Western Heights Preservation Society worked at clearing vegetation and rubbish from the sites at Drop Battery, and St Martins Battery, revealing parts of the structures that had been lost for decades.

This tour will enable you to explore both sites, and learn about the story that links them. There will be a few surprises on the way too.

The walk, which will take about one and a half hours, will be going off the regular pathways and may be muddy and slippery underfoot so please wear appropriate footwear, it will also involve ascending a long flight of stairs so will not be suitable for pushchairs, or anybody with mobility needs,Dogs are welcome.
