Join the Guinness Archive and the Dublin Festival of History for a fascinating look at the women of Guinness in a historic Dublin setting.

The history of Irish women in the workplace is one that is underexplored. This evening will highlight the lives of the women who worked with Guinness, both inside and outside of the brewery’s gates.

Leanne Harrington of the Guinness Archive traces the working relationships the famous brewery had with women publicans, while DCC Historian in Residence Antonia Hart explores the company's employment of midwives from the late 19th century. John Kavanagh’s aka The Gravediggers plays a pivotal role in the event as a location with its own strong historical links to Guinness and women behind the bar.
