Join poets and writers Ruth Ennis and Juliette Saumande for Rhyming on the Rooftops, a fun workshop that combines poetry and doodling, individuality and community and come make your colourful mark on our giant skyline. This one-of-a-kind event is suitable for rookie poets and seasoned writers alike.

Age: 9 - 12yrs

Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please book 1 ticket per person attending.

While this event is free, by making one of your tickets a 'Supporter's Ticket' you will be making a valuable contribution towards keeping future events accessible and towards the sustainable growth of Dublin Book Festival.

Ruth Ennis (she/they) is a writer from Kildare. Her work has been published in The Irish Writer’s Handbook (Books Ireland) and I Am The Wind (Little Island). Ruth’s début novel Shorelines (Little Island) is a young adult verse novel retelling of The Little Mermaid, told through the lens of a fat protagonist. Ruth is usually working with books in some capacity. She was the Emerging Writer in Residence at the dlr LexIcon 2025-2026. She regularly reviews children’s and young adult books on various platforms. Her main reviews can be found on the Books Ireland Magazine website. She is also a Book Doctor (Professional Book-Recommender) for Children's Books Ireland.

Juliette Saumande is a children’s writer and poet, with many titles to her name including My Little Album of Dublin and My Little Album of Ireland (with Tarsila Krüse and The O’Brien Press). A Book Doctor, Creative Associate for Creative Schools and creative writing teacher, Juliette is at heart a professional bookworm who loves using words, stories and books to help kids (re)discover and grow their creativity.
