The A Brief History of Broughty Ferry's Former Fishing Industry and Community will take place on 5 November 2026 at 13:00 in Glasite Hall, Dundee. The event is a talk by Charlie Webster. The event is free to attend.

A talk by Charlie Webster

Charlie will present a brief historical, virtual tour of the Ferry's former fishing industry and community including local customs and characters, the Broughty lifeboat disaster in December 1959, the use of the Forth and Clyde Canal and connections with Australia and China

Doors open from 12.30pm at the Glasite Hall on King Street. Please enter from the churchyard or the east side of the building (the lift is available from both sides but the accessible door is at the east entrance). You DO NOT need to bring a printed ticket.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available to purchase before the talk. Entry to the talks are free but if you would like to make a donation towards the hire of the hall, there will be a donations tin available.
