The Dundee 4J Tour takes place on 10 September 2026 outside the corner entrance of Malmaison Dundee for a price between £10.00 and £39.00. No refunds are available for this tour covering Dundee's past, present and future which includes visits to the V&A, RRS Discovery and HMS Unicorn.

The tour route is about 1mile (1.6 km) Duration about 60 minutes.

The Dundee 4J Tour - does NOT include entry to any attractions

We shall depart from outside the corner entrance of the Malmaison Hotel.

Please be there 5 minutes beforehand so I can check tickets and run though the itinerary.

Look out for a guy wearing a Dundee Photo Walks hoodie.

Jute – Dundee was once the biggest producer of jute in the world.

Journalism – DC Thomson publishes newspapers + comics - the Dandy + The Beano

Joysticks – Lemmings, GTA, and the console versions of Minecraft were made in Dundee.

On this tour journey from Dundee’s origins as an east coast trading port through its industrial heritage of jute manufacture, ship building, and whaling to the present day as a centre of biomedical research and computer game production.

This tour also shows Dundee waterfront’s remarkable regeneration.

A blend of recent history, humour, and photography.

Jam - This colourful mural can been found near the site of Dundee's marmalade factory. Hear about Marmalade was "invented" in Dundee.

Jute - The raw materials to make jute passed through the Port of Dundee. Some parts of the docks were filled in but this part remains. The HMS Unicorn at over 200 years old is older than the dock where it is moored.

Journalism - DC Thomson publish newspapers, magazines and comics. There are a couple of statues the one of Desperate Dan from The Dandy is the most famous.

Joysticks - In the 1980s the ZX Spectrum computer was made in Dundee. Teenagers starting making games and forming companies one company made Lemmings and Grand Theft Auto.
