Stories offer us another way of seeing the world: one in which trees have stories of their own, the seas have tempers, and humans aren’t always in charge. Join Scottish storyteller Sarah Wedderburn-Ogilvy round our firepit for an exploration of our relationship with the natural world through folklore and traditional tales. Expect wonder, mischief and moments of reflection as we consider what it means to belong to the living world around us, and the importance of rest and renewal for those working to protect it. This event has been made possible due to the Scottish International Storytelling Festival’s Big Scottish Story Ripple initiative. The Scottish International Storytelling Festival (SISF) is organised by Traditional Arts and Culture Scotland (TRACS) and the Big Scottish Story Ripple is supported by The Scottish Storytelling Forum. This event will take place around a firepit in our garden at East Fergus Place. We will move indoors to the Community Space at East Fergus Place if there is adverse weather. About Sarah Wedderburn-Ogilvy Sarah Wedderburn-Ogilvy is a Scottish oral storyteller and participatory artist whose work draws on traditional tales, folklore and the power of shared storytelling. With a love of the strange, the playful and the deeply human, she invites audiences to discover new perspectives on themselves and the world around them. Booking Information The event is free but booking is required. You can choose to purchase a ticket with a donation. Donations help us do more work in our community. Our booking form includes a series of optional anonymous questions. These help us learn more about the people we reach through our events. Accessibility There are accessible parking bays available outside 8 East Fergus Place. There is a ramp into the building and level access throughout. There is also an accessible toilet. Learn more about how to get to us and the accessibility of the building. Weather permitting, we will sit round a fire pit in the Greener Kirkcaldy East Fergus Place garden. Chairs will be provided and the garden is accessible via ramp with gravel paths. If you have any other accessibility questions please phone 01592 858458 or email info@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk .
