Italy’s food culture is one of the most celebrated in the world – a rich tapestry woven from centuries of tradition, regional pride, and an unwavering love of good ingredients. From the sun‑baked coasts of Sicily to the rolling hills of Tuscany, Italian cooks have always relied on the best local produce to create dishes that are simple, generous, and full of flavour. Join us for a relaxed, hands‑on workshop where we’ll explore this diversity by preparing a selection of classic dishes from across the country. You’ll chop, stir, simmer, and taste your way through a menu that showcases Italy’s regional character – then sit down together to enjoy the feast and chat about the Italian approach to eating: sociable, seasonal, and always shared. What we’ll cook – Caponata (Sicily) – a sweet‑sour medley of aubergine, tomatoes, capers, and herbs. Pasta e Ceci (Rome) – a comforting one‑pot pasta with chickpeas, rosemary, and garlic. Gnocchi alla Sorrentina (Campania) – pillowy gnocchi baked with tomato, basil, and mozzarella. Ribollita (Tuscany) – a hearty bean and vegetable stew enriched with cavolo nero. Pasta alla Norma (Sicily) – tomato‑coated pasta with fried aubergine and ricotta salata. Focaccia (Liguria) – soft, olive‑oil‑rich bread topped with herbs and sea salt. Marinated courgettes (Venice) – lightly cooked courgettes dressed with lemon, mint, and garlic. Torta di mele (Tuscany) – a rustic apple cake, fragrant, moist, and perfect for autumn. All dishes are suitable for vegetarians. Our workshops are friendly and informal, with plenty of guidance from your tutor as you prepare each recipe. You’ll leave with new skills, fresh ideas, and a delicious appreciation of Italian flavours from vibrant vegetable dishes to fragrant bakes and the joy of sharing food around a table.
