This hands-on workshop is a joyful journey through winter traditions from around the world – a chance to slow down, get creative, and connect with the heart of seasonal celebration. Together, we’ll explore three beautiful bakes that each tell a story: rich marzipan-filled s tollen from Germany golden Saffron Buns of Sweden’s Saint Lucia Day buttery, aromatic Festive Spiced Shortbread – a creative twist on a classic Scottish biscuit Whether you’re a seasoned baker or simply love the magic of festive food, this workshop offers a cosy, welcoming space to learn, create, and take home treats that will light up your winter table. These recipes are more than just delicious, they’re steeped in culture, warmth, and the spirit of sharing. You’ll leave inspired and ready to continue baking at home. Our workshops are fun and informal and our tutors will support you in preparing the recipes. We’ll chat and answer questions as we go. The course is suitable for beginners and people with some experience interested in trying out something new. Please bring boxes to take home your creations. The Lang Spoon Community Kitchen The Lang Spoon Community Kitchen is part of Greener Kirkcaldy’s community building. We’re based in the heart of Kirkcaldy, close to the High Street and the train and bus station. Find out how to get here . Our purpose built training kitchen has eight workstations, replicatig the ease and comfort of cooking at home. Our cookery school is complemented by a productive and climate-friendly garden, where we run volunteer training sessions and grow seasonal herbs, fruit and vegetables to use in our classes and events. We also have a larger community training garden and orchard in Dysart. We host a wide range of events, courses and workshops on all aspects of food and drink. Both our Community Training Kitchen and Production Kitchen are available for hire too.
