About This Event

Come along and help develop ideas for greener, more welcoming spaces along Kirkcaldy’s Waterfront. At these interactive events, we’ll work together to explore how green and public spaces along the Waterfront could be improved and used differently – creating places that work better for the people who live in, work in and visit Kirkcaldy. We’ll build on what people have already told us through earlier conversations and consultation events. We’ll bring along some initial ideas and visuals to get the conversation started, but nothing is set in stone. We want to hear your ideas, local knowledge and what you think would make the Waterfront greener, more attractive and a better place to spend time. We’ll take a closer look at four spaces: Basin car park Esplanade car park A The raised platform opposite Volunteers Green The area opposite the leisure centre There will also be plenty of opportunity to think about the Waterfront more widely and share ideas for other spaces, connections and improvements along the area. You don’t need any previous knowledge or experience to take part – just come along with your ideas, experiences and knowledge of Kirkcaldy. We’re running a daytime and an evening session to give people a choice. Both will follow the same format, so come along to whichever suits you best. We’ll be holding more events in different locations across Kirkcaldy over the autumn too. A community greenspace strategy for Kirkcaldy These events are part of a wider project to create a community Greenspace Strategy for Kirkcaldy. We want to work with people across the town to identify how Kirkcaldy’s green and public spaces could be improved, better connected and used in ways that benefit our communities. We’re starting with the Waterfront, but this is just the beginning. We’ll be holding more events in different locations across Kirkcaldy over the next few months, with opportunities to talk about green spaces in other parts of the town and help develop ideas for them too. Booking Information This event is free and booking is encouraged to help us get an idea of numbers. You can also drop in to the event on the day.
