Hidden Edinburgh is a small-group, women-led walking tour that follows the Water of Leith through some of the city's quietest corners, taking in St Bernard's Well, Dean Village and the Archivists' Garden. Along the way, guide Martina Berger — a former journalist — surfaces the stories of the women history left out: Mary Foley, mother of Arthur Conan Doyle, and the plant and poison knowledge behind Agatha Christie, alongside surprising parallels between Scottish and Balkan folklore. The tour is delivered in partnership with Women in Travel CIC, a community interest company supporting women's entrepreneurship in the travel industry, and reflects that mission in both its content and its storytelling. Meet at the stone archway marked “THE DENE”, beneath St Deans Bridge, beside the Water of Leith Walkway entrance from Saunders Street, Edinburgh EH3 6TQ The walk ends with a hands-on, personalised aromatherapy blend-making workshop (Tuesdays and Thursdays at Wizardrops on Brunswick Street; other days end instead with its signature Plant Pot Pud at The Botanist, St James Quarter).
