Midweek Mindful Mornings is scheduled for 9 September 2026 at The Salisbury Centre in Edinburgh with ticket prices listed as Check website.
A nourishing space for activists and changemakers to resource themselves and reconnect with their purpose
As someone who's serious about making a change in the world, you constantly run the risk of burnout.
Confronting a sense of doom. Waves of helplessness and hopelessness. Lack of sleep. Frustration with the people you're trying to help. Spending hours doing grassroots work that can seem like it's getting nowhere.
These are just a few challenges that activists and changemakers face on a daily basis.
But what if, midweek every week, you gave yourself time to:
connect with yourself and your mission
spend a few moments walking barefoot on the ground
have a deep, compassionate conversation with others who are walking a similar path?
This is what the Midweek Mindful Mornings are about. For five weeks in September (and possibly beyond!), I want to create a space that supports you. Pausing every Wednesday for 90 minutes and taking time out to connect to what matters.
Let's see if this actually makes a difference, shall we?
What to expect + practicalities
We meet in The Salisbury Centre Library on Wednesday mornings, from 8:30 - 10:00.
Each session will consist of some time connecting to yourself, to Nature in the garden, and then sharing what's on your heart and mind with others.
All activities are optional. At any point, you can choose to opt out and take yourself out of the space to be on your own. We'll talk more about that in the room.
First 10 minutes are for arrivals and settling in, and the doors will close at 8:40 sharp. You won't be able to join after this time. This may sound harsh (I know delays easily happen while commuting at this time of day!), but this is to protect a sense of groundedness and safety in the group once we start. You're welcome to arrive 10-15 minutes earlier to give yourself a moment to land / buffer time.
Advance booking (at least the evening before) is recommended as places are limited to 12 participants. You may also drop-in and if there's a free spot, you'll be most welcome!
Please book via Eventbrite (ideal as it minimises admin for me) or by emailing hello@martabrzosko.com
Financial contribution
This event is offered on a donation basis as a community event at The Salisbury Centre. This means no one will be turned away for financial reasons.
I am able to offer two free spots for those who can't donate a minimum of £1. If you require a free spot, please let me know at hello@martabrzosko.com
If you're able to contribute, please make a donation of your choice, guided by this sliding scale.
£7 - concession for students, unemployed, unpaid carers, people with disabilities, and anyone who isn't financially comfortable right now
£12 - sustainable ticket for those who are comfortably covering their basic needs
£15+ - a pay-it-foreward ticket if you're financially comfortable and would like to contribute to someone else's concessioned ticket.
Refunds up to 1 day before the event.
A hot drink and pastry will be provided, along with facilitated activities.
All donations will be split 50:50 between the facilitator and The Salisbury Centre. You can donate via Eventbrite, bank transfer, and/or by cash on the day. Please DO NOT donate via the card machine in The Salisbury Centre hallway.
Group agreements
We will mention these at the beginning of each session. Three non-negotiable agreements I'd like us to follow are:
Confidentiality: What you hear here, stays here
Honour Yourself: Be proactive when it comes to communicating your needs, boundaries, and consent (or lack thereof)
Honour Another: Practice positive regard for others, listen to each other, be mindful of assumptions, respect other people's needs and boundaries
At the beginning of each session, we will take a moment to hear out any access needs that may be present.
Access and transport information
The Library is wheelchair accessible. The Garden is wheelchair accessible via a ramp in the Art Room, so is subject to Art Room availability during our session. Usually, it is available at this time of day.
The Salisbury Centre’s kitchen door and toilet are wheelchair accessible. Please let me know in advance of any access requirements by emailing hello@martabrzosko.com. Additionally, if relevant, please fill in this PEEP template and share it with me in advance.
For more information about accessibility and getting to The Salisbury Centre, please check this page.
About the facilitator
I've been facilitating connection events, workshops, and courses in Edinburgh and online since 2020. I work as an Office Administrator at The Salisbury Centre, and I am currently training as a Transformative Conflict Facilitator with Navigate.
My approach is informed by Buddhist philosophy, mindfulness & compassion, non-violence, and looking for balance between the individual and collective needs. You can read my musings on these topics in my newsletter Connection Hub.
