Learn safe, effective ways to assist the person you care for while protecting your own health and wellbeing.

This session is ideal for anyone who provides unpaid support to a family member, friend, or neighbour and wants to feel safer and more confident in their caring role.

You will:

Understand principles of moving and handling and how to apply them at home

Learn how injuries occur and how to prevent them to protect overall wellbeing

Gain confidence in everyday activities with safe techniques such as helping someone in and out of bed, assisting with standing or supporting short transfers

Try out small M & H equipment

Get guidance from experienced trainers

Please note this session does not include training on hoists or other big pieces of M & H equipment.
