BIO Kolbrún is an Icelandic playwright, director and dramaturg based in Edinburgh. Her play This Is a Gift premiered at Pitlochry Festival Theatre last summer and the Icelandic National Theatre in an Icelandic translation last autumn after being longlisted for the Women’s Prize for playwriting and selected as part of the new canon 37 Plays at the Royal Shakespeare Company. Previous credits include Deliverance (Brite Theater, produced by Vanishing Point), Kit Kat (Traverse Theatre Breakfast Plays) and (Can This Be) Home (New Territories Award 2018 Prague Fringe). Kolbrún was playwright in residence at the Reykjavík City Theatre ‘24-’26. We now invite you to join us for the autumn festival, Offspring – Their Dark Materials, happening over two days in November with three full script readings, one scratch event and two networking events. Offspring Festival features three new plays that we think deserve love and a platform as well as extracts from folk that Offspring have not featured before.
