A young woman arrives at her father’s house to clean out his things after his passing. His presence is haunting her in the mess he’s left, in the house, in the nature around her. There are eyes watching her. There’s a darkness in the lake. And there’s a heavy heritage hanging over her shoulders. Tadpoles is a monologue about nature and nurture, about grief and ghosts. ABOUT ELLA Ella is a playwright, performer and producer from the north of Sweden. She lives and works in Edinburgh. Her debut play r/Conspiracy was shortlisted for the Popcorn Award and the Scottish Theatre Awards on the Fringe, and she is currently commissioned by Strange Town and Long Story Short Theatre. ABOUT OFFSPRING Launching Spring 2026, Offspring Festival was the first of two annual festivals curated by writer and director Kolbrún Björt Sigfúsdóttir aka Kol. We now invite you to join us for the autumn festival, Offspring – Their Dark Materials, happening over two days in November with three full script readings, one scratch event and two networking events. Offspring Festival features three new plays that we think deserve love and a platform as well as extracts from folk that Offspring have not featured before. The goal with the festival is to make it easier for these pieces, and those to come, to find their audience and potential partners. The Kolective is about making connections. We hope you join us! Proceeded by free event Kolage – a mix and mingle event for writers and directors using scissors and glue, starting 19.45.
