On December 4th, 2023 an Israeli bomb hit the home of Abuzour family killing 55 members at once. Scottish Lancaster-born artist, Christine Dawson, has created a series of installations memorialising the lives lost and raising the question of what futures were lost along the way, particularly referencing scholasticide. Called Gauze 2, this exhibition is on at the Palestine Museum Scotland from 13-25th October 11-6, daily. The Remembrance of Futures Lost is a special accompanying event with Dr Saeed Abuzour, a surviving member of the family and a selection of Palestinian academics who will form a panel to discuss the issues raised by exhibition. The English word 'gauze' gets its name from Gaza, from where the fine muslim originates.
