One of France's greatest winemakers will be hosting a dinner at Papple's new restaurant - with a fine selection of his Alsace wines

Olivier Humbrecht MW was France's first Master of Wine - and is one of very few French winemakers to hold this title. He runs his 40 hectare family domaine - Domaine Zind Humbrecht - in Alsace in eastern France.

Olivier makes sensational textured flavoural wines from low yielding vines - and the dinner will be showcasing his fabulous Riesing, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer.

Olivier will be attending the dinner with his Scottish wife Margaret.

The evening will begin with a sparkling rreception with Zind Humbrecht's Clos Windsbuhl Chardonnay methode traditionnelle fizz - followed by seven other wines from the domaine. All will be matched to a four course menu curated by Papple's talented consultant chef Scott Smith (ex Fhior) and Papple's head chef Chris O'Connor (formerly of The Caldeonian).

Accommodation is available on Fri 10 Dec within Papple's historic C19 renovated steading complex and farmhouse - which is in a beautiful setting in the foothills of the Lammermuir Hills near East Linton - 20 miles east of Edinburgh.
