Join us as policymakers and leaders from Estonia and Galway tackle sustainability and governance challenges through knowledge exchange.

The event will feature keynote talks and three expert panel discussions focused on topics of shared strategic importance, including Hydrogen Valleys, renewable energy and the future of energy systems, governance challenges, sustainable cities, and innovative technologies such as data centres and artificial intelligence.

These sessions will examine how Estonia and Galway are addressing common sustainability challenges while identifying opportunities for joint research, policy development, and economic growth.

Inspired by County-Pairings Initiative (https://www.gov.ie/en/department-of-foreign-affairs/press-releases/eu-presidency-county-pairings-announced-by-ministers-mcentee-and-byrne/) launched by the Irish EU presidency, that pairs the County of Galway with Estonia, this event is recognised as an Associated Event (https://irish-presidency.consilium.europa.eu/en/presidency/associated-presidency-events/) of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2026.
