Writers from Glasgow and Alexandria will come together for the first time to read from their work and celebrate their publication.

Join us to celebrate the work created by local writers in Glasgow and Alexandria as part of Agnes Owens’ centenary year.

Established earlier this year, the two writing groups explored Agnes’s work through The Agnes Owens Archive Writers in Residence programme, with support from writers Kirstin Innes in Alexandria and Saskia McCracken in Glasgow. The programme in Glasgow was supported by Creative Scotland and in Alexandria by West Dunbartonshire Council Arts & Heritage Team and Live Literature Funding from the Scottish Book Trust. The result is People Like This, a new publication bringing together examples of work from participants across both groups.

At the Archive's showcase, writers from Glasgow and Alexandria will come together for the first time to read from their work, celebrate their achievements and mark this special year for Agnes Owens. Copies of People Like This will also be available to purchase. Come along and celebrate the voices, stories and creativity inspired by Agnes’s work.
