The Power of Presence is a practical workshop held at The Wynd Centre on 4 October 2026. Organisers aim to help participants speak with greater confidence, connection and impact through exploration of presence, body, breath and intention. The event will take place in Glasgow with various performers leading the session.
A practical workshop exploring how presence, body, breath and intention can help you speak with greater confidence, connection and impact.
Do you know what you want to say but sometimes struggle to communicate it with the confidence and impact you’d like?
Perhaps you feel comfortable speaking in some situations but less confident in others. You might be able to hold a conversation with ease, then find yourself rushing through a presentation, losing your train of thought when pitching an idea, feeling self-conscious speaking in front of an audience or struggling to feel natural when creating on-camera content.
Different speaking situations can bring different challenges, but the foundations remain the same.
Powerful communication doesn’t begin with words. It begins with presence.
In this practical two-hour workshop, Kirsty will introduce you to Speaking With Intention and explore how becoming more present within your body, breath and voice can change both your experience of speaking and the way others experience you.
Drawing on The Embodied Communication Framework, you’ll explore the relationship between Body, Breath, Voice and Speech and Presence, Purpose, Relationship and Connection, with practical exercises you can begin applying immediately.
What we'll explore:
Becoming more grounded and present before and while speaking
Using the body and breath to support confidence, reduce unnecessary tension and develop greater vocal freedom
Becoming clearer about your purpose and intention
Moving away from overthinking delivery and towards greater connection with what you’re saying
Developing your relationship with your listener, audience or camera
How presence and connection can create more natural pace, pitch, emphasis, pauses and gesture
Applying these principles across different communication settings, from presentations and public speaking to pitching, networking, interviews and on-camera content
Whether you’re speaking in front of an audience, pitching an idea, presenting your work, contributing to a meeting, attending a networking event or creating content for camera, you’ll leave with practical tools to help you communicate with greater presence, confidence and impact.
