This event will bring together artists, architects, academics and policymakers to explore the future role of public art in Glasgow.

Organised by GIA and RIAS, supported by Glasgow City Council, this Visioning Glasgow event will bring together artists, architects, academics and policymakers to explore the future role of public art in Glasgow. Together we will consider public art from intellectual, cultural, planning, architectural and economic perspectives, while exploring opportunities to inform future policy, investment and delivery.

Glasgow has a rich tradition of public art, from historic monuments and civic sculpture to contemporary murals, installations and community-led creative projects. As the city evolves, there is an opportunity to think more strategically about how public art can contribute to civic identity, placemaking, economic growth and cultural vibrancy.
