Fun and engaging engineering activities for families funded by the Gloucestershire County Council

Date: Wednesday 28th October 2026

Location: Friendship Cafe, Chequers Bridge Centre, Painswick Road, Gloucester, GL4 6PR

Join us in a fun, inclusive environment where you can design, build, and create at your own pace.

No experience needed — just curiosity and creativity!

10am - 11.30am : Catapults

Explore the physics behind catapults, their design and how they operate. Build your own working catapult and see the results.

11.30am - 1pm : Rubberband Cars

In real cars, gasoline or electrical energy is converted into kinetic power to make it move. Using a rubber band to store energy you will stretch and release it to see how fast it goes.

For families with children aged 5-16 years. Children under 5 years are welcome as part of a family group.

£5 per child. Accompanying adults attend for free. Please contact us if cost is a barrier to attending.

Light refreshments provided for all attending.
