In this guided 1.5 hour walk John will show you the best spots to see the birds that live and visit Ripon Wetlands. If your lucky you might catch a glimpse of the spectular starling mumurations.
Please feel free to bring your binoculars with you.
Embrace your wild side - what to expect:
A ccessibility and terrain
There is a trail leading from the car park down to the Riverside Lagoon viewing screen and then on to the canal towpath which leads to the Canal Reedbed Hide. There is no loop trail - it's there and back.
Please keep to the footpaths, as the rest of the reserve is for wildlife only. Paths are flat but surfaced with gravel, making it difficult for wheelchairs and buggies. We advise sturdy footwear with strong soles.
What to bring/wear
This event takes place outside so brace yourself for the Yorkshire weather! Sturdy footwear is always recommended. The weather may do anything so please come preared with waterproof clothing, torch, binoculars and food/drinks.
Toilets and catering
There are no toilets at this nature reserve and no catering facilities. You're welcome to bring a drink and/or snack with you but please take your litter home with you.
Meeting on the day
Meet at the entrance to the nature reserve.
