What is your business buying, using or throwing away that could be working harder for you?

Waste is not just an environmental issue. Materials, packaging, products that do not last, unused resources and disposal can all represent costs and opportunities to do things differently.

But “become more circular” can feel like a big, abstract ambition. This workshop is about making it practical.

Circular Economy for Every Business is a fully funded, hands-on workshop for East Sussex SMEs interested in reducing waste, making better use of resources and exploring how a more circular approach could work in their own business.

How do I know if this is for me?

This workshop could be useful if:

Your business pays to dispose of waste or unwanted materials and you suspect some of that cost could be avoided.

You use products, materials or packaging and want to find ways to reduce, reuse, repair, return or recover more of them.

You are looking for practical ways to make your business more sustainable, rather than broad commitments or theory.

You have heard about the circular economy but are not entirely sure what it could mean for your business.

You think your product, service or business model could work differently, but need a structured way to explore the possibilities.

You have a particular waste, material or resource challenge that you would like to work on.

What will we do?

Led by Worlds Better (https://www.worlds-better.co.uk/), this will be a practical working session rather than a lecture.

We will use circular economy thinking to look at the resources flowing through a business (including materials, products, packaging and waste) and identify where something could be avoided, reduced, reused, repaired, shared, returned or recovered.

We will also introduce an Eco Canvas approach to help you think about your business model differently.

You will work through a real challenge, explore possible circular strategies and start developing an idea for how one of those approaches could work within your own business.

You don't need to arrive knowing what “circular economy” means. The point is to explore what it could mean in practice for your business.

What will I leave with?

You will leave with one realistic opportunity to explore further, rather than a huge sustainability to-do list.

That might mean reducing a particular source of waste, changing how you use packaging, extending the life of a product, rethinking how a resource is used or starting to test a more circular business model.

The workshop includes an opportunity map, practical actions and signposting to further support through Be Business Energy Wise.

This fully funded workshop is for eligible, actively trading East Sussex SMEs. It is particularly useful for owners and people working across operations, production, facilities, products or services who can bring a real material or waste challenge to explore.
