The minibus will be running as usual for anybody who wishes to get a lift from the Lido car park (The Rye, High Wycombe). The bus will leave at 10am promptly. Or you can meet us on site at 10.15am.

Please can we ask everyone to arrive on time to ensure you do not miss the health & safety and task briefing. If you are late and the session has already started, you may not be able to join. Thank you.

The Task:

Today will be working along the edge of the river - felling and clearing excess vegetation from which we will make habitat piles.

We will also be digging a trench for a new hedgerow and if there is time we may be able to start planting.

Timings (please note these timings are approximate):

10.00: Minibus departs Lido

10.15: Arrival for safety briefing, please don't be late!

11.30: Tea & coffee break

13.00: Minibus arrives back at depot & home time!

The Chiltern Rangers team may stay on longer than 1pm and you are welcome to stay. Just bring a packed lunch to keep you going!

What to bring:

Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task.

Long trousers are advisable as there is thorny vegetation. We also recommend wearing steel toe capped or sturdy boots rather than trainers. You may want to bring your wellies but these are not necessary.

Wear layers that you can remove if you get hot whilst working. Bring a waterproof as most of our sites have no shelter from the rain.

Please bring plenty of fluids and a packed lunch if you are staying past 1pm. We will bring a tea kit and biscuits.

Please note:

Biscuits are served at all Chiltern Rangers sessions. Please advise if you have an allergy.

Sometimes there is a need for us to use power tools that can be noisy.
