What is a Sound Bath?

If you’ve never experienced a sound bath before, you may be wondering what actually happens. Despite the name, there’s no water involved! A sound bath is simply an opportunity to get comfortable, close your eyes and relax while you are surrounded by the beautiful sounds and vibrations of instruments such as singing bowls, drums, chimes and other instruments. There is nothing you need to learn, no particular way you need to breathe, and you don’t have to try to empty your mind. You simply allow the sounds to wash over and around you, helping you to switch off from the outside world and enjoy some time just for yourself.

Our sound bath experience will last approximately 75 minutes and is designed to be inclusive and accessible — you don’t need to be flexible, fit, spiritual or experienced in meditation. You are welcome to lie down or sit, whichever is most comfortable for you. If you would like to lie down, please bring a yoga mat or sleeping bag, together with a blanket and cushion or pillow so you can get really cosy. If you would prefer to sit, please bring along a comfortable chair instead. We also recommend bringing some water with you.

Meet & Greet from 7.15pm so you can find a place and get yourself settled so we are ready to start at 7.30pm.

Everyone experiences sound differently, so there is no right way to experience a sound bath. Your only job is to get comfortable, listen, relax and allow yourself to enjoy the experience. Rather than rushing off as soon as the final sounds fade away, we’ll finish the evening gently with a cup of herbal tea and a piece of dark chocolate, giving you a little time to come back into the room, chat if you wish, and round off the evening before heading home.

This special evening has been organised to help raise much-needed funds for Stokenchurch Community Library, our local volunteer-run community library. By coming along, you’ll not only be giving yourself some time to relax and unwind, but you’ll also be helping to support this valuable community resource.

We’re delighted that the sound bath will be led by Jools Hartis of Find Health Freedom, an experienced sound practitioner who will guide us through the evening using a beautiful combination of gongs, singing bowls, chimes and other therapeutic sounds.

PLEASE NOTE: The cost of this 75 minute Sound Bath Experience is £20 per person, with all profits from the evening helping to support Stokenchurch Community Library.

Your ticket will show as free when you make your booking. This is simply so that you don’t have to pay an additional booking fee through Eventbrite.

Once you have reserved your place, we will send you a separate payment link for the £20 payment. Your place is only confirmed once payment has been received.
