New for 2026: Panel Discussion – What Makes a Place Thrive?

Following a reflection on the Foundation’s achievements and the impact of local giving, we are delighted to introduce a special panel discussion exploring what helps communities and places flourish.

Bringing together voices from business, education, local government, culture, community organisations, and the voluntary sector, our panel will share their perspectives on the opportunities and challenges facing Kirklees and the role we can all play in shaping its future.

The discussion will explore:

Economic Opportunity – creating pathways to prosperity and supporting local enterprise

Culture & Creativity – the role of arts, heritage, and culture in bringing people and places together

Environment & Sustainability – building greener, healthier, and more resilient communities

Community Leadership & Volunteering – empowering people to make a difference where they live
