The Good Footers Trail Run Club
The Good Footers Trail Run Club was created for adventurous beginners to feel safe and free in exploring wonderful trails across the South Pennines and the Peak District together.
We are an open, inclusive and social community valuing connection over clock-watching and supporting each other over smashing times. We're about breaking down barriers of entry and focus on creating a space for people to explore the outdoors in fun and engaging ways.
You may or may not already run? Or you may be hiking trails and want to try moving a little quicker? You might like the idea of trail running but don't have the knowledge of where to go or how to get started? You may just want to join a group of like-minded individuals who are about supporting one another and enjoy getting outdoors together.
Whatever your reason, you are absolutely welcome to join our weekly trail runs, professionally guided, faciliated and insured with Good Footing CIC.
Trail run routes - Various locations
EVERY WEDNESDAY at 6:30PM (6:40 Depart)

We carefully plan and run different routes each week starting at approx. 5k all varying in terrain and ascent. The pace will be easy with some walking in places and plenty of rests where needed. One thing that is guaranteed is the stunning scenery that you will experience running in the Holme and Colne Valley area of the South Pennines.
Booking and your donations
You must book on to each weeks run. We have different tiers of recommended donations. Our mission is to nurture compassion in community by making our events accessible to all! You can come for free, donate a certain amount to help us continue our social mission through delivering safe, fun and impactful outdoor activities for everyone. And also pay-it-forward for others in our community.
Open - FREE reserved only for first timers and those who can't afford to donate (limited places)
Accessible - up to £5 - we want to make our events accessible to all
Standard - up to £8 - helping to cover our costs in delivering our events
Supporter - £12 - you're helping to create free and subsidises places for others!
You can book each week individually or the month ahead if you wish. There is no pressure to commit to every week and you can donate any amount you wish. We're ever so grateful for you turning up and supporting Good Footing CIC. Thank you!

Please make sure you pack the following and wear appropriate clothing for each trail run:
Grippy running trainers (ideally trail running trainers)
Enough layers (check the weather and think when we stop)
Good hydration
Head-torches (Autumn/Winter evenings)
Anything specific to your health and wellbeing - fuel, insulin etc...
Please make our run leaders aware of any medical conditions you have before running.
WhatsApp group for info and events
We use a WhatsApp group chat to arrange all runs, share knowledge, support each other and keep the conversation going outside of our events.

Post run social
Whilst it's not a pre-requisite, we do often have a post-run socials in nearby pubs and cafes or a warm drink and cake back at the rendezvous, weather permitting. All are welcome to bring cake :)
