VCSE Thematic Assembly: Neighbourhood Health in Hull West Area
Our new VCSE Thematic Assemblies are an addition to our current schedule of monthly Assembly meetings held by Sector Connect. Additional to the Information and Networking Assembly meetings you will be used to, this new thematic format provides an opportunity to come together and examine more closely specific themes.
The aim for these thematic meetings is for those operating in a similar field to come together to raise awareness of their work; to explore current delivery and identify gaps and opportunities to meet local need and strategic priorities; to facilitate co-production on opportunities between the Public and VCSE sectors; and to respond to new funding and service delivery opportunities through collaborative working.
The next thematic Assembly will focus on Neighbourhood Health in Hull West Area. The aim of this meeting will be gain a greater understanding of current VCSE delivery in this area, and the potential for further development. Attendees will receive an analysis of the demographics and specific health inequalities in this part of the city, before moving on to a workshop to explore:
· Services delivered by attendees in this area, along with any other data or assets held.
· Current gaps in service delivery or barriers to access.
· Next steps for service development and delivery opportunities.
Two other successful thematic Assemblies that focussed on East Hull and North Hull has already taken place and were attended by over 50 organisations.
The aim is that by the end of these sessions, a clear picture will be formed of the role that the VCSE sector currently plays in the delivery of Neighbourhood Health, as well as its potential future role. This will be presented to Hull City Council and the ICB as an evidence base of VCSE involvement and collaboration, as they start rolling out the Neighbourhood health agenda and associated models of funded delivery.
Whilst this Assembly will be open to all, spaces are limited and will be prioritised to those who operate or deliver services in the West Area of the city or have not yet been able to make one of the previous sessions.
Arrival and coffee will be from 9am, and the Assembly will start at 9.30am.
