Thinking about setting up a Community Interest Company (CIC) but not sure where to start?
Our new Introduction to Community Interest Companies workshop is designed for anyone considering whether a CIC could be the right structure for their community-focused idea.
The session will provide a straightforward introduction to CICs, including what they are, how they work and what makes them different from other types of organisations. We’ll look at some real-life case studies of successful CICs to help you understand what they can look like in practice.
We’ll cover:
What a Community Interest Company (CIC) is
The different types of CIC and how they work
Whether a CIC could be the right structure for your idea
Real-life case studies of successful CICs
The key steps involved in setting up a CIC
What you need to consider before taking the next step
Where to find further support and information
There will also be an opportunity to book a one to one to talk through your own idea with a Development Officer, ask questions and explore whether a CIC could be a suitable option for you.
Whether you have an idea that is still at the very early stages or are already thinking seriously about setting up a CIC, this workshop will give you the knowledge and confidence to decide what to do next.
Suitable for: Anyone considering setting up a CIC or exploring the best organisational structure for a community-focused project or enterprise, who are based in Leicestershire County or are based in Leicester City and either deliver health and wellbeing services or support county residents.
If your group does not fall within these areas, who may have your ticket cancelled or be asked to pay £25.
